Name
Bridging Past and Present: A Call for Unity
Description

Join us in the Luce Foundation Center for American Art, the first visible art storage and study center in Washington, DC, as we practice close-looking with the newly installed piece, Bridge, by contemporary artist Glenn Kaino.  How does this artwork "bridge" past and present?  What values does it invite us to ponder?  Who is it speaking about, and who is it speaking to?  What actions might it encourage?  Together we'll explore a Project Zero thinking routine while moving through the Smithsonian American Art Museum’s open storage space to examine artwork from different perspectives, both literal and metaphorical.
