Name
Digital Storytelling for Classroom Engagement (Online)
Date & Time
Tuesday, July 15, 2025, 12:00 PM - 12:50 PM
Description

Digital storytelling is a creative and participatory method that enables learners to reflect on a specific subject and produce a first-person narrative in the form of a 2-3-minute video. Digital storytelling empowers students to share their own perspectives and reflections on America’s 250th anniversary, making the learning experience more personal and meaningful. In this presentation, we’ll showcase ways to use digital storytelling with museum objects from the Smithsonian Learning Lab. You’ll leave with a toolkit of resources and activities to amplify student voices, build community, and increase classroom engagement and active learning across disciplines.
