Date & Time
Tuesday, July 15, 2025, 3:00 PM - 3:50 PM
Description

THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION, a new documentary series directed by Ken Burns, Sarah Botstein, and David Schmidt premiering in November on PBS, explores the country’s founding struggle and its eight-year War for Independence. Accompanying this series, PBS LearningMedia will launch a collection of classroom resources for grades 3-12. In this session, educators will discuss how this film can be a vital resource for teaching about the Revolutionary era. They’ll describe how film clips and interactive resources, accompanied by robust classroom support materials, can provide opportunities to highlight multiple perspectives, fill gaps in knowledge, and address issues that remain relevant today.
