Stories of America: Bridging Communities Through Narrative (In-Person)
Date & Time
Wednesday, July 16, 2025, 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM
Description
Join us for an interactive session commemorating America 250 through storytelling. Participants will analyze historic imagery from the Smithsonian, exploring personal and collective narratives. Through small group discussions, they will create thematic collections and reflect on values shaping American identity. Additionally, participants will connect national themes to local stories, emphasizing how diverse narratives within communities highlight crucial aspects of democracy amid contemporary challenges. This hands-on experience aims to inspire deeper engagement with the stories that define us and will introduce participants to two Smithsonian programs: Stories 4History and Democracy in Dialogue Virtual Exchange.
