Name
Artful Advocacy: Facilitating Civic Dialogue Through Local Art (Online)
Date & Time
Tuesday, July 15, 2025, 3:00 PM - 3:50 PM
Description

In this interactive presentation, participants will explore how local murals—art inspired by community voices—can spark discussions about civic values. Using Project Zero’s Art as Civic Commons thinking routine to identify Values, Identities, and Actions in public art, participants will reflect on how art expresses and challenges civic ideas. They will then apply this routine to art in their own communities, inspiring creative making and actions that promote positive change. This session offers practical strategies for educators, community leaders, and anyone interested in using art to foster meaningful civic dialogue.
