Speaker Bio
Callie Howard is a Facilitator at Spark!Lab, a hands-on space at the National Museum of American History in Washington D.C. focused on invention education. Here, she engages visitors in the invention process through inquiry-based learning and hands-on challenges that help foster 21st century skills and inspire visitors to recognize themselves as inventive. Callie also supports Spark!Lab off-the-floor by developing educational resources, creating training materials, managing volunteers, and promoting teen engagement. Prior to working at the National Museum of American History, Callie graduated in 2022 with a BA in history and anthropology from Oberlin College. After graduation, she spent a year serving with AmeriCorps as part of the Ohio History Service Corps, where she helped grow the capacity of local history museums across Columbus and offered guidance on best practices. As part of this position, she also co-led a year-long teen internship program dedicated to youth empowerment and community engagement.
