Maureen Leary is the Director of Education & Visitor Experience at the Smithsonian’s National Postal Museum, where she leads her team in creating welcoming and inclusive spaces and programs for a range of audiences. Maureen discovered her passion for engaging in museum learning with children when she began her museum career at the Smithsonian Early Enrichment Center, an onsite school for infants through Kindergarten. She spent over two decades there in a variety of roles, including classroom teacher, bilingual programs educator, and site director. She holds a BA in English from Georgetown University and an M.Ed. in Educational Psychology from the University of Virginia.
