Speaker Bio
Leo Mullen joined the Spark!Lab facilitators at the National Museum of American History in June 2023, working with visitors on their next big idea, and assisting with content and programming development wherever necessary. An alumnus of South Dakota State University in Brookings, Leo has a BS in history with minors in political science and museum studies. A native of Sioux Falls, before coming to DC Leo worked in a variety of visitor experience roles and served as a collections aid and project researcher at the South Dakota Agricultural Heritage Museum. He is currently working on a MA in public history at American University in Washington, DC. Beyond the walls of Spark!Lab, Leo has wide-ranging academic interests, including among other things; merchant and naval ships, space exploration, and instilling a sense of wonder about the natural and human history of the universe we inhabit.
