Andrea Kim Neighbors (she/her) is the Director of Education at the Smithsonian Asian Pacific American Center (APAC), where she partners with K12 educators and Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander communities to co-create innovative educational resources. Passionate about connecting cultures and histories to present-day experiences, Andrea helps shape APAC’s National Education Program to foster learning that’s both impactful and inclusive. Before rejoining APAC, Andrea served as the Director of Social Impact at Blue Star Families, where she worked to amplify the voices and needs of military families. Her career also includes roles as Head of Education at APAC, Manager of Community Partnerships at The Phillips Collection in Washington, DC, and Tour Manager at the Wing Luke Museum of the Asian Pacific American Experience in Seattle. Andrea is also a Professorial Lecturer at George Washington University, where she shares her expertise in museum education and community engagement.
