Renée Gokey (Citizen of the Eastern Shawnee Tribe of Oklahoma) is the Teacher Services Coordinator at the Smithsonian Institution’s National Museum of the American Indian. She has worked at the National Museum of the American Indian (NMAI) since 2000, where she collaborated with Indigenous peoples and stewarded Indigenous collections from across the Western Hemisphere. In the museum education field in 2004, she’s designed educational programs, virtual and onsite teacher training, and learning materials for K-12 students, families, students and teachers through work on NMAI’s Native Knowledge 360° National Education Initiative.
