Jamie Lathan is a National Board Certified secondary social studies educator with over 24 years of experience working with high school students from diverse backgrounds and abilities. His teaching is grounded in a deep passion for American history and African American culture and history. As a school administrator, Jamie is committed to expanding access to high-quality educational opportunities. He currently serves as the Vice Chancellor of Extended Learning at the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics (NCSSM) in Durham, NC, where he leads outreach efforts, virtual learning, teacher professional development, and summer programs with a strong focus on equity and collaboration.
