Katelynd Anderson is the Interim Director of the Anacostia Community Museum. Anderson has been with the Smithsonian for more than six years, most recently serving as the museum’s interim deputy director. In that role, she oversaw and coordinated all facets of public programming, public affairs, curatorial, and museum administration and operations. She also expanded the education and public program departments to create mission-driven, community-centered programming.

She is a passionate advocate for our communities and has a background in fundraising for mission and vision driven organizations that are vital to our city and region. She uses her skills as a leader, an impact-definer, a storyteller, and a convener to support organizations that create, sustain, and build better communities.
