Speaker Bio
Ashley Wallen is an award-winning STEM instructional specialist and program manager whose belief that education is the most accessible avenue to liberation for Black communities and her commitment to ensuring every child feels seen, valued, and empowered to dream boldly.
She began her career as a STEAM specialist with the Boys and Girls Club, bridging learning gaps and earning the Bronx Youth of the Year award. A Howard University honors graduate, Ashley has led more than sixty initiatives. Her most highlighted event was the HBCUs EmpowerED Expo in partnership with the U.S. Department of Transportation Office of Civil Rights, earning the City of Alexandria’s Champion of Children Award and personal recognition from Mayor Gaskins.
While teaching, she is completing a fellowship with the Smithsonian National Zoo and Educational Leadership and Administration program at George Washington University, preparing to become an equity-driven educational leader.
