Summer L. Hamilton, PhD, is the Digital Community Partnerships Specialist at the Smithsonian American Women’s History Museum, where she is establishing its digital community outreach and co-creation program. Working with community partners, educators, and other museum professionals, she develops community-centered content on American women's history.

Prior to joining the museum, she co-led digital projects emerging from Pennsylvania State University’s Center for Black Digital Research and the Just Transformations Initiative. Prior to Penn State, Hamilton amassed a decade of technical experience working as both a systems and network analyst. She also spent five years as an Upper School English teacher at The Hockaday School in Dallas, Texas.

Hamilton earned her Ph.D. in English from Southern Methodist University in Dallas. She holds an M.A. in English from Southern Methodist University and a B.S. in Computer Science from Christian Brothers University in Memphis, Tennessee.
