Sahtiya Hosoda Hammell has been the Educational Specialist at the Smithsonian’s National Portrait Gallery for 2 years but has two decades of experience developing civic engagement and identity formation. She holds an AB in English from Princeton and a MEd in Educational Psychology from the University of Virginia. Sahtiya started her career in the high school classroom and has produced educational programs for institutions like Monticello, the Bishop Museum, the Hawaii Department of Education, and the University of Texas at Austin.
