Rebecca Martin serves as Smithsonian Gardens’ associate director of collections, programs, and engagement. She has studied and presented on horticulture and garden history while working at the Litchfield Historical Society, the National Archives and Records Administration, George Mason’s Gunston Hall, and Smithsonian Gardens. She loves getting hands on with history, cultivating heirloom plants and trying historical recipes.
