Phoebe Sherman is the Student and Teacher Programs Manager at the Smithsonian’s National Postal Museum (NPM), where she oversees programs and resources for PreK–12 learners and educators. In 2025, she accepted the Outstanding Employer Award from the Washington, D.C. Department on Disability Services on behalf of NPM, recognizing her leadership in expanding opportunities for teens with disabilities at museums. Before joining the museum, Phoebe taught social studies and English language acquisition in a Washington, D.C. public high school, earning awards for highly effective teaching and leadership and serving as a district social studies fellow. Her work centers on inclusivity, collaboration, and student‑led inquiry to create meaningful educational experiences for all. She holds a BA in Anthropology and History from Beloit College and an MA in Public History from American University.
