Dr. Amber Ludwig teaches in the History and Social Sciences Department at Stone Ridge School of the Sacred Heart in Bethesda, MD. She holds a PhD in the History of Art and Architecture from Boston University with a specialization in 18th-century British portraiture. Her doctoral research examined portraits of Emma Hamilton in relation to women's education and identity formation. Prior to teaching at Stone Ridge, Dr. Ludwig held curatorial, teaching, and research positions at the British Museum, the Honolulu Museum of Art, Harvard Art Museums, the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, Museum of Fine Arts Houston, Rhode Island School of Design, and the Dallas Museum of Art, among others.
