Antonia Liguori is Professor of Participatory Storytelling and Public Policy at Teesside University, UK. Over her career, she has had the privilege to experience a diverse pathway, both in the heritage sector and media industry in Italy and in academia in the UK. She earned her PhD in History and Computer Science from the University of Bologna, Italy, in 2005. Since then, she has been involved in international research projects to develop tools and methods to foster innovation in education; to explore the role of storytelling in today’s digital world; to investigate and trial ways of using Digital Storytelling as a participatory methodology for interdisciplinary research. In 2018, she was awarded an AHRC Fellowship at the Smithsonian Center for Learning and Digital Access. She is a co-editor, along with Philippa Rappoport and Daniela Gachago, of a forthcoming book from Smithsonian Institution Scholarly Press, "Story Work for a Just Future."
