Description

How do commemorative artworks reveal our national values and aspirations? Join educators from the Smithsonian American Art Museum to discover engaging teaching ideas at the intersection of art, history, and civics. Participants will practice close-looking and visual analysis techniques and experience an activity that engages students with local history as they design a commemorative public artwork. Leave with an artwork poster and classroom guide that helps students visualize one of our nation's founding documents, and the confidence to implement them with your students right away.
