Date
Wednesday, July 15, 2026
Time
2:15 PM - 3:15 PM (EDT)
Description

How can tiny postage stamps shape national narratives and amplify civic expression? In this hands-on session from the National Postal Museum, participants will explore how stamps serve as primary sources that reflect democratic values, U.S. identity, and civic engagement. Drawing from the museum collection, we'll examine stamp history, design elements, and how stamps can elevate youth civic voice. Participants will then practice a simple printmaking activity adaptable for classroom use across grade levels and subject matter areas. Leave with actionable strategies to integrate art, history, and civic engagement through the study and design of postage stamps.
