Transform your next museum field trip into a powerful learning experience for your students. Join two skilled and experienced facilitators at the National Portrait Gallery and Smithsonian American Art Museum to preview strategies for connecting artworks and portraits with meaningful discussion of content and concepts. As you plan for the 2026-2027 school year ahead, learn how student programs offered by both museums foster inquiry-based learning and critical thinking across subject areas and align with national standards.

 

Where To Meet:

Meet outside the auditorium in the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library between 2:00 pm - 2:15 pm. Group will then travel together across the street to NPG and SAAM for the experience. Session programming takes place from 2:15 pm - 3:15 pm.
